Active membership into this Association and annual fees consist of any of the following levels listed below:


BCC- Board Certified Chaplain  ($300 annual)


  • A  Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) is one who has the benefit of professional certification granted by the L.C.A., Inc. Certification Commission on behalf of the L.C.A., Inc. Board of Commissions.
  • Is one who supports the work and purposes of the Louisiana Chaplains Association, Inc., have the necessary denominational endorsements to serve as chaplain, and meets the certifications standards established by the L.C.A., Inc. Certification Commission certification procedures manual. 
  • With the provision that no stated equivalencies for these standards shall be acceptable with regard to the required baccalaureate and Master of Divinity degrees from institutions accredited by a recognized regional unit of CPE or four units of CPT shall be required, with stated equivalencies acceptable for the other three required units of CPE.
  • Has Voting Privileges. 

  • Can hold office on any board of this Association, may be elected to membership on standing boards or commissions of the Association.  May be named to ad hoc committees and task forces of the Association.

  • Advocate for the L.C.A., Inc. and professional chaplaincy
  • Maintain annual membership dues and certification / renewal of certification fees
  • Maintain annual membership dues and certification / renewal of certification fees (payable by January 1 and must be paid by June 30) 
  • Participate in at least two meetings per year in order to remain in good standing the Association



CCS - Certified Chaplain Supervisor ($300 annual)

  • One who supports the work and purposes of the Louisiana Chaplains Association, Inc., have the necessary denominational endorsements to serve as chaplain, and meets the certifications standards established by this Association, with the provision that no stated equivalencies for these standards shall be acceptable with regard to the required standards.
  • Has Voting Privileges.
  • Can hold office on any board of this Association, may be elected to membership on standing boards or commissions of the Association. 
  • May be named to ad hoc committees and task forces of the Association.

  • Advocate for the L.C.A., Inc. and professional chaplaincy
  • Maintain annual membership dues and certification / renewal of certification fees (payable by January 1 and must be paid by June 30) 
  • Participate in at least two meetings per year in order to remain in good standing the Association


MSC - Member in Support of Chaplains ($300 annual)

  • One who supports the work and purposes of the Louisiana Chaplains Association, Inc., but unable to meet basic requirement for another level of membership in the Association.

  • No Voting Privileges.

  • Can't hold any elected position or office, but can be named to ad hoc committees and task forces of the Association.

  • Advocate for the L.C.A., Inc. and professional chaplaincy
  • Maintain annual membership dues and certification / renewal of certification fees (payable by January 1 and must be paid by June 30) 
  • Participate in at least two meetings per year in order to remain in good standing the Association


RCA - Recognized Chaplain Associate ($300 annual)

  • One who supports the work and purposes of the Louisiana Chaplains Association, Inc., have the necessary denominational endorsements.

  • Currently assisting in an institutional chaplaincy program as a volunteer or contract/salaried associate

  • Has Voting Privileges.

  • Can't hold any elected position or office, but can be named to ad hoc committees and task forces of the Association.

  • Advocate for the L.C.A., Inc. and professional chaplaincy
  • Maintain annual membership dues and certification / renewal of certification fees (payable by January 1 and must be paid by June 30) 
  • Participate in at least two meetings per year in order to remain in good standing the Association

SSA - Chaplain Approved for State Service

($300 annual)

  • One who supports the work and purposes of the Louisiana Chaplains Association, Inc., have the necessary denominational endorsements to serve as chaplain, and meets the certifications standards established by this Association, with the provision that stated equivalencies for these standards shall be acceptable and no "CPE or CPT" shall be required.

  • Has Voting Privileges.

  • Can hold office on any board of this Association, may be elected to membership on standing boards or commissions of the Association.  May be named to ad hoc committees and task forces of the Association.
